You may have heard initial reports or rumors about an armed person at Cascade High School in a neighboring school district and that information is incorrect. There was a large police presence in response to the report and a student was found to have an Airsoft gun (a real-looking toy gun) at school.
Given the events earlier this week, it is especially important to remind students absolutely NO weapons are permitted at school, even toy weapons. This is never funny and there are real consequences for bringing this kind of toy to school. While we are thankful this was not a real weapon, please help us impress upon your family the importance of them following these safety rules.
Please excuse the brevity, but we wanted to get this information to you as quickly as possible.
