    ABCs of Middle School

In 6th grade, every student takes a class called Middle School Foundations (MSF). You can think of this course as Middle School bootcamp. We work on academic skills that can be applied in all classes like: academic vocabulary, discussion skills, how to study, and how to take good notes. We also learn “soft skills” like time management, organization, leadership, conflict resolution, active listening, team work, emotional regulation, and stress management. The book you are looking at right now is the final project we create at the end of the trimester. Students chose words for each letter of the alphabet and explained its role in student success. We hope you enjoy reading it! We look forward to welcoming you to Olympic View in the fall!

Important Information

News & Updates

  • The Mukilteo School District acknowledges that we are gathered on Indigenous Lands, the traditional territory of the Coast Salish People, specifically the Tulalip Tribes, successors in interest to the Snohomish, Snoqualmie, Skykomish, and other allied bands signatory to the 1855 Treaty to Point Elliott. The district serves a diverse population of about 15,000 students who live near the Puget Sound about 15 miles north of Seattle, Washington.

Our mission is to help prepare our community's children to be successful, contributing members of the community. Our students learn in an environment that is positive, caring, and focused on their highest academic potential, and it's working. Mukilteo students consistently score well in annual achievement tests and win academic honors. Many people have moved to the area because of the first-rate Mukilteo school system.
