Welcome to 5th grade Band.  I have been teaching Instrumental Music in this district since 2003.  I currently teach Band at Columbia, Mukilteo, Serene Lake, Picnic Point, Horizon, Fairmount, Odyssey, and Lake Stickney Elementary schools.  I also teach Kindergarten music and Special Needs Music/Pe at Columbia.

I grew up in Pullman WA and attended WSU. I have been playing instruments since I was in 4th grade.  I participated in the Cougar Marching Band and even marched in the Rose Bowl Parade In Pasadena California.   

I met my husband in college and moved to Everett in 2001.  I have 3 beautiful daughters who also love music.  My oldest currently plays trumpet in the Kamiak Show band and Wind Ensemble. My middle daughter plays clarinet in the Olympic View Band.  My youngest is starting beginning band this year and will play the flute.

Learning to play an instrument can be very exciting and also difficult.  It takes patience and practice.  I will teach you the very basics and by the end of the year, you will be able to play many different songs.  You will also be ready to join the Middle School bands where you will have the opportunity to travel and participate in parade performances.  You will have a lot of fun if you stick with it.
