The School District Budget

  • Where does the money come from, and where does it go?

The Mukilteo School District is a large organization. Each school day, about 15,000 children and young adults pass through the doors of Mukilteo schools, making it the 22nd largest school district in the state of Washington. The students attending Mukilteo schools live within an area that includes Mukilteo, much of south Everett and unincorporated areas north of Edmonds and Lynnwood. Providing those students with a quality education requires a workforce of about 2,500 people (including substitutes, coaches, etc.) and an operating budget of more than $300 million.
