Welcome to Serene Lake Elementary! As the principal, I can say without reservation that it is a wonderful feeling to be a part of the Sea Otter Community. Our school has a strong history of a positive school culture where staff, parents, and the community work together to ensure students are receiving a well-rounded and high-quality education in an environment that is safe, kind, caring, and respectful.

I believe effective teaching is a combination of good planning and instruction and the ability to develop positive relationships with our students. When these three things happen in a school community everyone benefits. We collaborate to create an environment that is invitational, inclusive and intentional.

The Otter Way is a standard at Serene Lake. This means that as a community we work to “Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Responsible” members of our school. It is important that while our charge is to grow students academically, we also work to instill leadership skills, develop our character, and set goals for personal growth. 

As a school community, we consider ourselves fortunate to work in such a passionate and supportive community! Parent involvement is a key component to the success of students at Serene Lake. We encourage parents and community members to get involved and we welcome your support.
