• I am very grateful to be part of the Mukilteo Elementary community and especially my 5th grade team.  I am currently in my 13th year of teaching at ME.  For the first ten years I taught Summit 4th and 5th grade and joined the 5th grade team three years ago.  My favorite part of teaching is hands down, no doubt, my students.  I love meeting my new class in the fall and spending a year learning and growing together.

I was born and raised in northern Norway, and came to the United States, first as an exchange student, and later to attend the University of Kansas. (Go Jayhawks!) That is where I met the fantastic guy who is now my husband.   Together we have two great kids – they both have degrees in chemical engineering and are pursuing careers in their fields of interest. We also are the proud humans for the world’s friendliest dog, Molly.

When I am not at school or doing schoolwork, I enjoy hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my husband and Molly, reading, cooking, baking, gardening, or trying to learn new skills or expand current ones.  I love learning, and I love teaching.
