What Are We Doing in Portable 3?

  • Fraction on a Number Line

Posted by Deirdre Sanborn on 2/28/2020

This week we have been learning how to place fractions on a number line. Today, students had the challenge of placing fractions with different denominators on the same number line! Some of the fractions were even greater than one whole.

Students did an amazing job of working with their peers to complete the activity and demonstrate their understanding of fractions.students students fractions on a number line

  • Valentine's Day

We started our morning by solving fraction word problems using playdough! Students created models of fractions with playdough to represent parts of a whole and parts of a set.

In the afternoon, students were able to show and celebrate love this Valentine's Day! Treats, notes, and cards were exchanged. Love and kindess was felt by all. Thank you for all the amazing gifts and treats!
